Priming up Your Interface
Interface on Steriods
Let’s take a look at the Google Analytics interface primer. Before we begin to use the Google Analytics interface why not enhance the data so you see? You know, more than you can see with a standard set up.
A Specialized Setup
When you get into the groove and do a proper pre installation analysis you’ll find there are many things you can track. Additionally, there are many different ways to track them. While you were working through the details of all items you are going to track such as leads, product purchases, high brand pages there’s other stuff to do. Why not do a proper analysis before installing the code? Check for broken links, discover website architecture, and see what pages are redirecting. These are three basic pre analysis ingredients you can use to improve your installation on every project.
Decide if you are going to run pay per click advertising. This is one of the decisions you want to make before setting up your interface. Maybe you want to track commerce? With the ecommerce integration a specialized setup is required in order for you to see when people buy things.
Some websites have special needs that need to be identified prior to installation. Examples include flash goal funnels, ecommerce and non-html pages. Perhaps you want to track flash events? It’s no problem you can use event tracking to track user interactions with flash.
Implementing your code is a strategy that needs to be integrated with reporting. Clean data is the best way to make data driven decisions. Small setup practices such as blocking unwanted traffic IP addresses are often overlooked. This can have a significant effect if you work on a network of 200 or more people that access your website each day without goal fulfillment intentions.
