How to Engage Your Networks
Building Your Social Empire
Friends, Groups, subscriptions, memberships are ways to get your message across. Where are people talking about your area of interest/ expertise? Now that you have found your people how will you meet them? You want to be a part of the conversation and you cannot shout “buy me”. There are best practices you always should employ when engaging in social networks. Finding your communities is not hard; it is learning the mood before you engage in conversation that must be approached with tact. When you finally contribute to your new found group it is the quality of your message that will determine your acceptance into the group. Do you have any good web pages, blog posts, Youtube videos, or podcast that will help the group? When you figure out what your friends and followers want, give it to them in a very helpful way. The reward is trust and any “good of the whole” person understands the power of trust.
Engage in Conversation
Whatever platform you decide to engage in it will come time to talk with others in the network. If it’s blog comments make sure you respond to all of them. Don’t be afraid to find other related platforms and leave comments on them as well. Speak right to problems with genuine empathy. If you’ve done your homework properly you should know the pain they feel and the tears they cry. This gives you great insight into meaningful solutions. When you speak directly to pain points with a solution based response you are embracing your friends and followers. Again, think about what that kind of interaction does for you when someone unconditionally solves your problem!
People Love Attention
You always meet people that tell you they could care less about being noticed for something they have done. Pardon me, but I say that’s a load of crap. Who does not like a pat on the back every once in a while? It is in our nature to take care of the necessities in life first. Once you settle in life you will want to socialize and be noticed. Attention and affection are main components to happiness and when someone goes out of there day to say “you are great” you’re crazy if it does it put a smile on your face. Reach out to your online peers and recognize them for who they are. Notice them with complimentary comments, acknowledging appreciation for their situation. When posting on other people’s blogs think about them (creators). They always appreciate the reward of a good comment made. Remember the idea of putting into your community and social interaction with others on their platform is a great way to do that…a reward for the creators that somehow always comes back to you. The creators will love it and you are also branding yourself to the creators and their audience it’s a WIN WIN. It’s all about quality information with intelligent conversation.
